An Argument Against Pollution

Civilization has brought people many advantages but its products also pollute and damage our mother nature. Most of the biggest environmental problems are often found in large cities and in industrial areas. One of the largest problems that are now affecting the world is air pollution. It is a major environment problems that is threatens the health of human beings and other living things all over the world.

Air pollution is any visible or invisible contamination substance found in the air. There are two types of air pollution, which are natural and man-made. Dust and gases from volcanoes, forest fires are an examples of air pollution that are produced naturally. However, man-made pollutants created much more harmful than natural air pollution. The primary source of air pollution produced by human is from automobiles, such as motorcycles, cars, and trucks. The emission of gases from the vehicles can cause many serious health problems, such as reduced lung capacity, and cancer. Coat-fired power plants are also one of the major factors that pollute the air. They release carbon dioxide, mercury, and other pollutants, which turn into acid rain. For instance, sulfur, a yellow chemical with a strong smell, that emissions from steel mills. Moreover, it also causes ozone depletion in the upper atmosphere, which can lead to global climate change.

Although, we cannot do much about natural pollution, we can do something about the air pollution caused by humans. There are numerous ways to improve air quality by produce less pollutants. We can begin from biking or walking instead of driving if the distance is not too far, or share rides with your neighbors if you are going to the same direction. To reduce air pollution produced by power plants, we have to save the electricity by use only as much as we need. Plant a tree that will absorb carbon dioxide can also improve the environment.

Every environmental problem has causes, effects, and most importantly, a solution. The quality of the air we breathe depends on us, so we all have to responsible to it. To solve these problems we must try to use alternative or less sources of energy that cause air pollution. It is all of us duty to protect and preserve our environment.
